“Brilliant. Lush. Dazzling. Soulful. All true, but still insufficient to evoke passion and exhilaration, the melancholy and triumph that a Harmonia performance evokes.” – SingOut! Magazine

Harmonia brings the traditional folk music of eastern Europe to life. It’s intense, driving, lyrical roots music that reflects the cultures of the region: Hungarian, Slovak, Ukrainian, Romanian, Croatian and Gypsy.

November 30, 2012, 8 p.m.

@ Lincoln Theatre

The concert will begin with the classical music of India, featuring Dr. Hans Utter on the sitar, and the vocals of Utpola Borah, followed by works on the Persian tar and setar, performed by Behzad Nemazi. The Persian setar is an intimate, stringed instrument associated with the musical meditations, laments and expressions of devotions of Sufis. The second act will culminate an onstage union of these traditions in an original arrangement, written for the concert by Hans Utter; a celebration of the human heart and a holiday wish for peace on earth.

An Indian buffet will be available in the lobby of the theater; doors open at 7:00 pm and the concert begins at 8:00 pm.

Sponsors can purchase blocks of 10 tickets for the concert and the buffet at a reduced price of $300.00. All sponsors will be listed in the program. Please call the CityMusic office if you are interested in becoming a sponsor at 614-223-3093.
